20-year old righty swinging 1B/OF Jonathan Singleton came into this season as the Astros’ #1 prospect according to Baseball America. Singleton was the key to the Hunter Pence deal with the Phillies last summer. Singleton has played in 50 games in AA-ball so far this year and he is 57 for 180 (.317 avg, 1.003 OPS) with 37 runs scored, 11 homers, 38 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. He has now played in 313 games in his first four years in the minors and he is 329 for 1,105 (.298 avg, .874 OPS) with 181 runs scored, 40 homers, 190 RBIs and 15 stolen bases. Singleton is on pace to be a starter for the Astros in 2013, if not before.
