Yao-less Rockets blast Nets 96-71

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 28 December 2006 at 11:30 pm

The Rockets dominated this game on the boards 54-32 and the Nets never had a chance.  Shane Battier led the way for the Rockets with 23 points and 9 rebounds.  Tracy McGrady had a horrible night shooting (4 of 16) and wound up with 17 points and 6 assists.  Rafer Alston did a great job of running the offense with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.  Juwan Howard hit the boards hard and wound up with 12 points and 11 rebounds.  Dikembe Mutombo started and scored 4 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in only 20 minutes of play.

The Rockets improved to 17-12 on the season with this win.

For a busy guy like myself, I can only afford to be a part time Rockets fan. I’ve never bought the jersey of another team, regardless of how cool it looks. If the Rockets don’t make the playoffs,I typically don’t care who wins. I’ll go to a home game regardless of who they’re playing. I think I’m a pretty good Rockets fan. Why the hell are they trying to make me turn my back on them by not having any games on tv?

Chris, that seems really odd that the Rockets don’t have games on TV. Everywhere I’ve ever been the home NBA teams are always on TV alot. That kinda sucks because they really look like a fun team to watch right now. I’m amazed at the play of Juwan Howard and Dikembe Mutombo.
