John Lucas stinking it up

Blogged under Front Page,Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 23 January 2007 at 5:02 pm

John Lucas was finally getting a chance to prove himself and he’s been awful.  In his last 6 games, Lucas is averaging 3.5 points, 0.8 rebounds and 1.0 assist.  He also has only shot 33.3% from the floor in those games and that’s a good way to get your butt nailed to the bench.

Dikembe Mutombo steppin’ up big-time for the Rockets

Blogged under Front Page,Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 23 January 2007 at 4:54 pm

When Yao got hurt many thought the Rockets were done….but Dikembe Mutombo got off the bench and stepped up big-time for the Rockets.  In his last 6 games, Mutombo is averaging 7.2 points, 13.0 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 2.0 blocked shots per game.  Without Mutombo playing at the level he is the Rockets would have lost alot of games the last few weeks.

Rockets can’t finish the job and lose 121-113 in OT in Houston

The Rockets were outscored 44-27 in the 4th quarter + the overtime period and that’s why they lost this game.  T-Mac didn’t shoot well (9 of 25) but he still scored 24 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 10 assists.  Juwan Howard also had a good game with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists.

Rockets put up a fight before losing 100-93 to the Suns in Houston

Blogged under Front Page,Game recaps by Nothing but Net on Thursday 18 January 2007 at 2:37 pm

The Rockets were without Tracy McGrady (back) and that hurt them in this game.  The Rockets only shot 39.3% from the floor and that was the main reason that they lost.  Rafer Alston did everything he could to help the Rockets with 29 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists.  Shane Battier (16 points, 7 rebounds) and Luther Head (16 points, 5 rebounds) each pitched in on offense but it wasn’t enough.

The Rockets fell to 25-15 on the season with this loss.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270117010

Rockets need Bonzi Wells to produce

Blogged under Front Page,Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 16 January 2007 at 10:35 pm

The Rockets need Bonzi Wells to get healthy and provide some firepower off the bench.  The Rockets bench has been depleted due to injuries and Wells would definately help.  He has played in only 11 games this season and has averaged 21.5 minutes, 6.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.  Wells needs to improve his shooting as he’s only hitting 39% from the floor.
