The Houston Rockets sign Brent Barry

Blogged under Big Rockets News,Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General by alleyoop on Friday 11 July 2008 at 11:52 pm

The Houston Rockets have signed 36-year old shooting guard Brent Barry to a 2-year contract. Barry played in 31 games (1 start) with the Spurs last season and he averaged 17.9 minutes, 7.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Barry is still a deadeye from 3-point range as he hit 42.9% of his shots from that distance last season. Look for Barry to get more playing time than he did last year in San Antonio. Barry has now played in 856 games (448 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 26.6 minutes, 9.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. This was a good move for the Rockets as Barry will give them some firepower off the bench.

jbar, I don’t think Yao should be allowed to play in the Olympics. He can’t even make it through a regular season in one piece so why take the chance.
